From Roads to Dirt, Sidi Shoes Stand Atop Cycling’s Most Prestigious Podiums
Boulder, Colorado,– Italian made and hand crafted cycling shoes by Sidi, distributed in the U.S. by Veltec Sports, offer category-leading models for road, mountain, cyclocross and triathlon disciplines. From the Tour de France to the World Mountain Bike Championships, top competitors rely on the unrivaled fit and design of Sidi’s ’09 models to help them climb the sport’s most prestigious podiums.
The road category sees the introduction of Mega Width sizing for the Genius 6.6 Carbon, a high-performance shoe with a full-carbon sole and unmatched comfort. The cycling press has hailed Sidi’s Heel Security System (HSS) for offering an incredibly secure retention system that does not compromise comfort. Like the men’s Genius 6.6, the top-of-the-line Ergo 2 and Women’s Genius 6.6 Carbon also incorporate the HSS fit. The Genius 5 Pro Carbon (men’s and women’s models) is now available with the new Millennium 3 carbon/nylon sole, resulting in increased stiffness.
At the heart of Sidi’s premier mountain bike shoe, the Dragon 2 Carbon SRS, you will find a full-length SRS carbon sole. The replaceable carbon insert is bolted to a nylon frame — a combination that allows just the right degree of stiffness for maximum performance and comfort. Like the Dragon 2, the Dominator 6, features the SRS technology. The highly regarded Dominator 5 (men’s and women’s models) utilizes a supple Lorica upper and Ultra SL buckles for an outstanding fit.
Triathletes will crave Sidi’s T2.6 Carbon for its sport-specific upper — with a brushed interior for sock-free comfort — and its patented full-carbon sole. Joining the T2.6, the T2 men’s and women’s designs incorporate the same triathlon touches on the upper, and a gender-specific last for female athletes. Adventure racers and X-terra athletes are sure to be buzzing about the introduction of the Terra model, the first cycling shoe built specifically for off-road multi-sport competition.
