After Carrying Tour de France Champ Carlos Sastre to Paris, Prologo looks to ’09

Boulder, Colorado, A cadre of elite Pro Tour cycling teams — including CSC-Saxo Bank, Milram and Rabobank — relied on Prologo saddles in 2008. The Italian-based company has used the insights gained from last year’s campaigns to create the most technologically advanced line of bicycle saddles available.

“Our company benefits enormously from input provided by athletes like Carlos Sastre and Fabian Cancellara,” says Prologo general manager Nicola Vernaglione. “Riders at the highest level want to work with companies that offer flawless execution of their design notes. With our ‘09 product line, we bring performance-oriented riders the absolute best in saddle technology.”

At the forefront of the Prologo line, the Scratch Nack combines high performance materials with unrivaled fit in a remarkable 158-gram package. The High Weave Density (HWD) base provides the foundation, with Braided Carbon Rails (BCR) and a Kevlar, carbon and aluminum seat post clamp ensuring precise positioning. Also in the Scratch line, the Scratch and Scratch Pro also employ superlight padding and innovative materials.

The revolutionary Choice line gives cyclists unprecedented options for adjusting the look, fit and padding attributes of their saddles. The gender-specific Choice Dea women’s model combines a morphological design that supports a female pelvis with titanium rails and cooling vents. The colorful cover options range from bold prints to classic glossy black.

Big-mileage riders will be dawn to the C.ONE saddles. The newest addition to the lineup, the C.ONE50 is available with Super Light Foam in several padding thickness to keep weight to a minimum while maximizing comfort. Rootex, a natural leather which is 20 percent lighter than the coverings several competitors choose, ensures durability and fit.
