Kristin Carpenter-Ogden founded Verde Brand Communications from a decade-long journalism career, working on staff for major consumer lifestyle magazines, business and trade titles. Over the past nine years, Verde has become well known as an agency known for strong results that drive sales for clients, and a highly creative, service-oriented approach to integrated brand communications.
As director of strategy for Verde’s clients, the agency and its divisions, Kristin leads business development at Verde. She also launched the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practice and is pursuing an MBA in sustainable business practices from Green Mountain College in Vermont.
Julie joined Verde in April 2004, and has worked extensively on a wide variety of accounts in the outdoor, snowsports, bike and fitness markets during her tenure. She has an affinity for southern hospitality, which is why she moved back to her hometown in Louisville, Kentucky after spending years in Colorado. That and Triple Crown Thoroughbred Racing.
Prior to joining the team at Verde, Julie served as a senior reporter for a trade publication covering the beauty industry. Julie enjoys mountain biking, hiking, skiing, yoga, and being outdoors with her husband, two daughters and their dog.
Based in our Jackson, Wyoming office, Keith heads up our action sports + lifestyle division and is a senior member of our Verde team. Born and raised in N.Y., his PR experience spans more than seven years in the trenches working in our core markets and beyond on the traditional and digital side of brand communications. When not on the phone or pounding the keyboard, he enjoys snowboarding, trail running, backpacking, surfing, mountain biking, BBQ-ing, and reading Puff the Magic Dragon to his 1-year-old son Fletcher.
Lisa has nearly a decade of public relations experience, specializing in outdoor, snowsports and natural/organic products. Prior to joining Verde in January 2010, Lisa worked as a PR specialist in the lifestyle of health and sustainability (LOHAS) arena. Now, leading the Boulder office for Verde, she brings her expertise in media relations and brand strategy to a variety of the top brands in the industry. Lisa’s PR philosophy brings out-of-the-box ideas to clients while providing tangible results.
The morning paper. Black coffee. Twitter. Running in big mountains.
These are a few of the rituals that get Craig Randall’s engine going every day.
A nine-year veteran with Verde Brand Communications, Craig has literally grown up with the agency since joining as an intern while he was in college at Fort Lewis in Durango, Colorado. Craig started as a public relations account manager with bike, endurance and tech clients, and as the media landscape evolved, so did Craig’s career path. He took the helm of Verde’s digital media division in 2012 and today, Craig serves as the agency’s Director of Integrated Services in Boulder.
Craig has earnestly helped move Verde toward being a more convergent media provider, blending the agency’s strengths in storytelling and connecting brands and people with trackable, data-driven organic and paid content marketing packages including video and podcasts. He is living and leading PR 3.0, the next phase of converged media for brands and influencers in the active outdoor industries.
Craig has built platforms and created service sets for Verde’s clients, and he is the personification of nimble in terms of bridging client needs with the ever-evolving landscape that is brand communications. He has grown Verde’s digital division and integrated services consistently, year over year.
Craig has been a featured speaker on topics of digital media, public relations and brand communications at industry gatherings like Outdoor Retailer, Snowsports Industries of America (SIA) and he has presented to the University of Colorado’s Leeds Business School. He is an often-utilized resource for media interviews and has appeared as a source for stories in SNEWS, Velo News, Bike Radar, PR News magazine and Boulder’s Daily Camera, among others.
Craig is very much inspired by Verde founder Kristin Carpenter-Ogden’s super-driven, innovative and athletically ambitious goals. As a member of Verde’s leadership team, Craig represents the agency in and out of the office while competing at a high level in sports including road cycling, cyclocross, and trail running.
He has run 100+ miles around Mont Blanc in France and across Italy’s Dolomites and competed as a collegiate cyclist with the National Champion Fort Lewis College Skyhawks.
While maintaining a busy career, Craig has also served the Boulder community with mentorship and coaching for the Boulder Junior Cycling program and been a five-year contributor to the Denver Post’s entertainment section.
After a decade-long career in journalism, a few years in specialty outdoor retail and a couple of seasons behind a ski-tuning bench, Dave Simpson combined all those skills by jumping into public relations in the outdoor, action sports and adventure travel industries. An account executive with Verde Brand Communications since 2003, Dave brings to his role a personal interest in gear and outdoor sports, an inside perspective on the media and the outdoor industry, a still-passable ability to tune a pair of skis, and a dedication to coffee. In his free time (or for work when he can occasionally get away with it), Dave enjoys skiing, climbing, biking, hiking, backpacking and travel.
