Conservation Alliance Ad Auction Begins

Online auction of ad space from leading publications runs through Friday, May 8

Bend, Ore., May 1, 2009 – The Conservation Alliance’s third annual Ads for the Earth Auction, an online sale of advertising space, kicked off today, and runs through Friday, May 8. The auction consists of ad space donated by Alpinist, Backcountry, Backpacker, Men’s Journal, National Geographic Adventure, Outside, Paddler, Sierra, Telemark Skier, and Wend magazines.

All proceeds from the auction will go into The Conservation Alliance’s grant fund to support efforts to protect wild places throughout North America. Each publication has donated one full-page, four-color ad. Winning bidders may use the ad space anytime within 12 months after the close of the auction (May 2009-May 2010)

Great Success Brings Positive Company Changes for Buff

Buff is undergoing many positive changes due to substantial growth and success in 2008 and into 2009. Effective May 1, the company name will change from Original Buff, SA USA to Buff, Inc. to become a subsidiary of Original Buff, SA Spain. Additionally, former US general manager, Shirley Choi Brunetti’s position will adjust to vice president and general manager of Buff, Inc.’s U.S. operation.

Verde PR & Consulting, boutique public relations, communications and corporate social responsibility consulting agency, announced today the hiring of Todd Walton as Senior Account Executive.

Walton was with Outdoor Research from 1999 – 2008, serving most recently as Public Relations Manager. This past year, he directed public relations and communications at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

As a Verde Senior Account Executive, Walton will directly manage accounts while bringing his range of skills and depth of experience in PR to the team at Verde. Walton’s over 10-years of experience in Verde’s core markets will undoubtedly enhance the agency’s signature creative approach to communications.

Walton starts on May 4.

Original Buff Provides U.S. Women’s Ski Jumping Team With Custom Buff and High Hopes for Inclusion in 2010 Winter Olympic Gam

Buff Headwear provided the United States Women¹s Ski Jumping Team and othe women ski jumpers from around the world with custom Original Buff head and neckwear to kick off the FIS Ski Jumping World Championships in February 2009. Additionally, Original Buff looks forward to continue supporting these pioneering athletes to gain inclusion rights from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to compete in future Olympic Winter Games. As it stands currently, ski jumping is the only sport in the Winter Games in which women are excluded.
