ABOUT VERDE BRAND COMMUNICATIONS:
Verde Brand Communications is a full-service public relations, branding, marketing, social media and consulting agency. Verde specializes in helping passion-driven businesses and brands expand and create unique and memorable outdoor experiences for their end-consumer base. Verde has strong roots in the outdoor, cycling, snowsports, travel, fitness, health and wellness, consumer electronics, pet and active lifestyle industries. We have offices and employees in Boulder, Colorado, Durango, Colo., Seattle, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
POSITION:
The Account Manager is responsible for the organization and communications on all levels of the account internally and externally. An Account Manager has a full understanding of every part of the accounts they manage and has the ability to manage up as well as manage Account Coordinators. An AM is responsible for creating and maintaining brand strategy, creative activations, media relations and happy clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Client Communications
Oversee and run Media Relations work
Pitching and follow up
Fact checking
In person events & meetings
Create call agendas, taking notes on calls, create post call recaps
Send media requests
Media tracking and blogging
Monthly and quarterly reports
Write press releases
Influencer/ ambassador relations
Intern recruitment and management
Product shipping
Consistently provide excellent customer service to clients, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality
Continually look for ways to amplify and optimize earned media results across multiple channels to benefit clients’ goals - qualitative and quantitative
Understanding how to apply media relations to increase conversion for clients
Build relationships with clients to identify and sell in new service opportunities
Develop and execute integrated plans based on clients’ goals
Continually bring new creative ideas to the client that supports the client’s goals, always drawing in agency and entire client list where relevant (i.e. effective campaign ideas, media seeding, influencer engagement, press trip, etc)
Proactively and professionally interact with designated clients, with consistent, one-on-one outreach
Run weekly meetings with clients
Assist in building strategy for designated clients, continually and in three month plans (quarterly). An account manager must think proactively and creatively in the development of PR strategy.
Direct clients towards additional services Verde offers when applicable
Work in tandem with cross functional teams (digital, SEO, affiliate, ambassador management, etc.)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
2-5 years Public Relations experience
Journalism and social media experience
Familiarity with outdoor market, outdoor recreation
Versed in Google Analytics
Working with affiliate programs
Understanding of SEO and applying that knowledge to pitching
Action-oriented and motivated
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proactive and professional
Collaborative
Working knowledge of entire agency client list, with focus on designated members of that list
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to manage
Ability to listen
Deadline-oriented: Meet all deadlines on time for clients, media, and agency
Strong organizational capability
Innate ability to follow up
Interest in championing the mission statement of agency
Desire to make a positive contribution through public relations and communications
Knowledge of Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); Knowledge of PR industry tools such as Meltwater, Cision/Trendkite and Critical Mention. Knowledge of Adobe Suite a plus.
Knowledge of Squarespace and Shopify preferred
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
Working remotely is ok
Travel: Currently limited due to COVID, before COVID - travel was common 1-2 times/month
Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000
