MSR introduces its most heavy-duty shelter for spring 2026, the Hubba Hubba HD Tent

The MSR® Hubba Hubba™ HD Tent provides durability and comfort amid inclement weather.

RENO, NV (Spring 2026) - Mountain Safety Research® (MSR), a global leader in high-performance outdoor equipment, is proud to announce the launch of the Hubba Hubba HD (Heavy Duty Edition) Tent for Spring 2026. This new addition to the iconic Hubba Hubba™ family is designed for backpackers and campers who need robust three-season protection, enhanced durability, and exceptional comfort — without the added bulk.

Built to handle harsher conditions, the Hubba Hubba HD Tent helps retain warmth in cooler, inclement weather using less mesh, while still allowing for airflow through updated vents that reduce condensation buildup inside the tent. The redesigned interior offers increased volume, providing ample space to move, rest, and wait out storms in comfort. With larger vestibules for storing wet gear, additional pockets, and an integrated clothesline, the HD model makes life inside the tent more livable than ever.

Durability is at the heart of the Hubba Hubba HD Tent’s design. Updated fabrics and coatings dramatically increase waterproof performance and extend the tent’s lifespan in the field. Straight-door zippers have been added for easier nighttime access and long-term durability. Stability is also improved, thanks to extra guy lines, which are cords that stabilize your tent in heavy winds and minimize leakage by keeping the rainfly away from the tent body, and included MSR Mini-Groundhog™ stakes.

In line with MSR’s commitment to sustainability, the fly, floor, and mesh of the Hubba Hubba HD Tent are made using solution-dyed fabrics. This process uses pre-dyed fibers that reduce water and energy consumption, and lower carbon emissions by at least 80% compared to previous dyeing methods.

“The Hubba Hubba HD Tent was born from listening to our community of backpackers who asked for a tougher, more weather-ready tent that doesn’t compromise on comfort,” said John Park, Product Line Manager at MSR. “With this tent, we’ve taken the proven performance of the Hubba series and added more durability, more protection, and more thoughtful features to help people stay out longer and go further.”

The MSR Hubba Hubba HD Tent will initially be available exclusively through the MSR website, followed by US and Canadian retailers starting in spring 2026. For more information about MSR’s lineup of award-winning tents, please visit www.msrgear.com
