Congress passed a package of public lands bills today that protects nearly 2.5 million acres of public land and 676 miles of rivers throughout the U.S. The legislation also reauthorizes the Land and Water Conservation Fund, an important conservation and recreation tool that expired late September 2018.
The Conservation Alliance awarded three emergency grants to Earthjustice, Outdoor Alliance, and Trout Unlimited to support their efforts to defend public lands. The grants, totaling $85,000, come from the organization’s Public Lands Defense Fund (PLDF), created to preserve and defend the integrity of America’s public lands system.
