WE ARE HEADING BACK TO NEW YORK CITY!
Verde trades in their trail runners for lifestyle boots twice a year for a trip to the big apple to showcase the latest and greatest from our outdoor, endurance, lifestyle and travel brands.
During the course of a full-day showroom, Verde meets one-on-one with over 35 media who specifically cover outdoor, fitness, wellness, travel and lifestyle products and business angles, building and maintaining key relationships with top tier publications and freelancer writers.

why new york?
We are excited to head back to New York City in-person this Fall after a three year hiatus! New York City is home to some of journalism’s biggest titles and most prestigious media houses. The Verde team has long prided ourselves on our strong relationships with these important influencers. The broad-market publications that operate out of NYC reach a diverse and activated audience base that allows our clients to gain exposure for their brands and products as they land on the pages and sites of these outlets.
Broad-market media continues to be a key piece of the full media-relations puzzle, as placement in these publications, and on their online counterparts, not only drives sales and dedicated consumers to outdoor and active-lifestyle brands, but also helps recruit new participants into the activities our industry serves. In addition, there are many freelancers who write for these publications in the city.

Verde’s broad market media trip to New York City will involve a combination of a one-day showroom and happy-hour event, a day of deskside appointments, as well as follow-up virtual appointments (to reach any key broad market media who are no longer living in the city or couldn’t attend our event).
The showroom on will be set up at the Flower School NY, in their ILA Penthouse space, located in the heart of Chelsea’s Flower District. This location was deliberately chosen because it truly brings the outdoors inside, with flowers throughout the space and jungle-like vines on the industrial rafters - an important touch and differentiator to most authentically showcase our outdoor industry brands.
The showroom will be set up for the entire afternoon and the media can book 1:1 appointment times to come and walk through our showroom, see the brands we work with, and talk with Verde account managers. Meetings will focus on telling key brand messages around sustainability, give-back initiatives, and business news, as well as showcasing in-line products for short- and long-lead online opportunities and long-lead print opportunities.
In the evening, Verde will host a media showroom happy hour event with appetizers and drinks so that journalists can socialize and spend time with the Verde team and our clients’ products in a casual, fun setting, and so they can drop by at a convenient time that works for them.

showroom event example - fall 2019
One of our most recent NYC media events in the fall of 2019 was themed Manhattan Adventure Getaway, bringing the great outdoors to the big apple. In mid-November and with a central showroom location in Chelsea, we had roughly 40 media join us in our natural outdoor haven in the heart of Manhattan. Bowls of Shar Snacks trail mix were dispersed throughout the room, 10 Barrel Brewery beer/cocktails were available at each brand booth for a tasting, and s’more desserts were available for those with a sweet tooth. Each brand booth had a customized National Park sign with their brand name to help add station consistency.
When the journalists arrived they were handed a trail map with information on each presenting brand, and greeted by a wooden directional trailhead sign pointing in various directions with each of our brands hand painted on wooden planks. At the end of the evening, the media were encouraged to “hike to the summit” (up a set of stairs) to fill their backpacks with gear for their next adventure from a large swag table. The room was also scattered with plants and greenery, and a camp scene took over the center of the space complete with a 4-Person MSR tent and GCI Outdoor chairs set up around a camp kitchen, really bringing a scene from the great outdoors to the big city.
